I Was There And Ran The Q-8's With The Snyder's,Price's,Litton's,Dunn's,Liefter's,Von Smith,Cannester's,Good's,Hamsters,Parker's,Monroe' s And Whomever Else I Forgot..The fun day's...
It Only Paid $1000 And At The Begaining $500.Also it was only $75 enty fee(not $200 like today)..
Yes, We Traveled 1000's Of Miles For The $1000 . Even Twice To Red River,La. After A Rain Out !! Did'nt Have Much Sense Back Then ! But We Loved Racing Fast Heads-up Q-8...
Another difference will be undoubtedly no nitrous cars will make it...
Have Fun Guy's And Girls ! Can't Afford It At the Fast Pace of Today's racing.. It Was Expensive Back Then (10 To 15 Years Ago)..today Will Be Triple The Cost (just Blowers alone Went From $3500 To $13,500)...
Looking For 5.90's Bumps..More breakage from the Q-8 , 1/8 mile cars trying to convert to 1/4 mile....
......They Should Allow The Roots F/c's In To give them a place to play so it's not a all dragster class ??????????
Thanks
Angela Sicilia

Angela, I'm only asking because I don't know. Are you saying it costs $200 to race in T/S or T/D at a national event then ? Does that $200 also get you into the Quick 8 race too, or is that another added fee ? Thanks.

Probably The Best One To Ask Is Someone Who Has Run IHRA In 09, What The Total Cost Of Entry Is Or Was...from What I Read Your Entry Into T/D Or T/S Covers The Q-8...
Also From What I Read On Comp-plus Is On The Second(last Day) You Run The First And Second Rounds Of T/D T/S Heads-up ????
Will Need Alot More Info, but It Sounds Great For The Fast Q-8
Cars Not Having To Run Dail-in Until The Third Round.....

TO Jrr : SORRY ABOUT THE NITROUS CARS COMMENT ! BUT I HAVE NOT SEE A NITROUS T/D IN THE 5.90'S YET..SOME HAVE TRIED WITH MEGA BUCKS AND STILL CAN'T MAKE THE 6.10'S OR 6.20'S....ONE LOCAL WITH A 810 CI SONNY MOTOR IN A 1800 LB. DRAGSTER COULD'NT DO IT...I DO BELIEVE YOU COULD DO IT WITH A CLUTCH CAR,AND NOT A AUTOMATIC/CONVERTOR CAR....HOPE YOU HAVE ALOT OF PISTONS...GOOD LUCK ON YOUR ADVENTURE....

Mike Kyle from La. has been 6.11 with a NOS motor from RM. However, I'll be looking forward to the quick 8 deal with my blown dragster.

Andy, I'd like to go but work is keeping me busy and close to home. Plus I still don't have my new Fontana Hemi yet.... maybe by the new year. Don't know of anywhere to test, maybe Kinston NC is having a winter race?
