Nitrous cars
Mike Kile has been 6.07@225 mph. I'm sure he could crack that 5 second barrier if he wants to.

Points etc.
Here are the rules out of the IHRa rule book for record setting procedure in Sportsman racing.
"Sportsman record and back-up runs are only allowed during qualifying at Pro-Am Events and Record Meets. No sportsman records established at Nitro Jam Events unless advertised as a Record Meet. A driver can only set a record for a particular class, once a year unless that record is reset by another competitor. A competitor may not set records in one car and race eliminations with another. Sportsman MPH records must be set in conjunction with ET records only. No points will be awarded for setting records"
I hope that helped answer some questions. I will say that in 2009 you got a nice certificate if you set a National Record. I think the Q8 thing will be a lot of fun. I know we jotted Martin down on our schedule for this year and we thinking about a few more just to come and try to go fast.

Troy,
Don't You Currently Hold The Ihra E.t. Record In Top Dragster? I would love to race at Martin but for some reason it always conflicts with the Night Under Fire at Norwalk. I wish they stop that

N.u.f.
Mr. Wilson, according to my son, there's no scheduled QUICK races on that Sat. night at Norwalk. Maybe no sponsor? I saw Decerbo's ride for sale on racing junk. Possibly getting out or a new ride?
Thanks,
Glenn, the national record holder's buddy-HAHA

Hey Ben!
Yes I currently hold the record at 5.869 @ 235.60 I do not believe that will stand for much longer. Eddie, Sheldon and I had fun last year at the Maryland race and one of us would have backed up our runs to set the record much lower if we would have had 1 more pass on Saturday but the rain stopped that!
We ran 3.75 at 194 to 1/8th on our 79 pass and we had lot more in the car that we could exploit but we didn't get the chance. Sheldon ran a 3.72 to the 1/8th on his 80 pass and he was fighting his car after half track.
I think you will see someone running 3.70 or maybe even quicker to the 1/8th this year and 5.74 or so in the 1/4 at over 240 without having to do to much work. I am not sure if anyone can put it in the 60's in the 1/8th or the 1/4 but I will never say never with what we now know about our car after getting a very large problem solved. We are only planning on the Martin IHRA race but who knows. It is difficult to set and back up the record if they only allow that to happen in qualifying. It always seems like we are scheduled for 3 qualifying passes but we only get 2 cause of weather etc.

P.S. Glenn! hahaha very funny!

Possible 2,000 to 3,000 for the winner. $500 for number one qualifier. Cars that don't qualify could go into superpro. Need some feed back on if this sounds like something people would enjoy and be willing to participate in. Need feed back quick so we can get fliers out with muncie schedule. email me your input. Trying do something fun for fellow racers. thanks.

IHRA Quick 8
First IHRA quick 8 race is in the books and Sheldon beats Eddie C in the finals. That's one tough race car to beat. Sheldon also broke the IHRA Top Dragster record. Troy I'm counting on you to get it back, lol.
